Salifest is a joining of different cultures and it is run by volunteers for 10 years (See film below) with lots of networking between people. We are always looking for people to join us and get in touch if you want to volunteer.
Janet Daby, our local MP, came to support us and gave us a lovely speech:
‘I am impressed with your event and to see it so well co-ordinated, with an excellent attendance from community activists and residents. It is admirable to know that this foundation is enabling and supporting people to help themselves in West-Africa.’
We had help from Lewisham Council to be able to benefit more people and hold workshops with elders and in schools leading up to the festival.
