Tamala means travellers in Mandingo language.It describes the origin of the musicians: Guinea, Gambia, Nigeria, Senegal, South-Africa and it’s meant to reflect their musical philosophy and direction – musique sans frontieres-. They are: Salifou Sylla, who was their musical director, Souleymane Compo, Thebe Lipere, Lamin Fatty, Pape Thiam, Ken Emegasim, Jally Kebba Susso.
