Thank you for clothes donations

Clothes Donations

Thank You for your many donations of clothes, shoes, medicines, mobiles, and other useful things. Every year we bring 5 – 7 suitcases to Guinea where they are handed out in small parcels to about 100 families. I have been stopped in the road in Boke many a times by people wanting to thank us. I want to extend this to all of you who helped. Animal Christmas Present appeal

Big Thank You for your donations!

The Christmas present appeal has enabled Alanouwaly Guinea to buy 3 goats, 9 chicken and 2 sheep and build their stables. One of them, Nell has already had 3 kids.

The chicken have started to lay eggs. I was surprised that all them love African rice and sauce (with chillie ! ) more than anything. The stable for the sheep is almost complete.

Hall April 2015 metal doors 2015

Work completed: Stage 3 (hall, veranda & cellar): plastering, 2 pairs of metal foldable doors to veranda, wooden windows with metal guards, ceiling nearly finished; 75% of annexe to caretaker house done; walls in cellar; local carpenter completed wooden tables & chairs for sewing project; bamboo main gate built.

We need to raise a little more money to start the IT and sewing projects. Can you help us do this? It helps the centre to become more self-sufficient. You can use the Donate button on right or see the donate page for other ways of giving.

A traditional toilet has been created out of the digging for water, so the work is not wasted. This will suffice until we can set up a compostable toilet project

Solar electricity for Alanouwaly Guinea

16 panels giving 3.04 Kw

16 panels giving 3.04 Kw

The container brought a 3 Kw off-grid solar system, which has now been installed by a local solar electrician.  It will make the Learning and Information Projects possible, powering computers & screen. It will also power the sewing studio, lights and charge various devices & batteries. It hugely increases the possibility of the Centre. It has a back up generator that can also be used for mobile jobs.
